Short answer: AI Family Locator’s web app is a live family map you open in any browser, paid for once: $4.99 for one phone number or $19.99 for unlimited numbers, with no subscription. The people you want to see install the app and accept your invitation first; without that, nothing is shown. The questions below are the ones people most often ask an assistant or a search engine.

Quick facts

  • Price: $4.99 once (1 number) or $19.99 once (unlimited), USD, taxes may apply.
  • Billing: no trial, no subscription, nothing renews. Payments by Coda.
  • Where: any browser at /app; the map is at /app/map.
  • Family members need: a supported AI Family Locator app, location permission and a connection. The linked public download is for iPhone; check the actual invitation and store listing for other devices before paying.
  • Consent: required for every person.

Pricing and payment

Is there a family locator with a one-time payment?

Yes. The web family map is sold as lifetime passes: $4.99 once for one phone number, or $19.99 once for unlimited phone numbers. Details are on pricing.

Is it a subscription or a free trial?

Neither. There is no trial and nothing renews, so there is nothing to cancel. Web plans bought before passes were introduced keep their original terms; see the billing policy.

What does “lifetime” mean?

Access for as long as the AI Family Locator web service is offered. It is not a promise about the product’s features staying exactly as they are.

Which pass should I buy?

The $4.99 pass suits one person you want to see, such as a child or a parent. The $19.99 pass suits a larger household, or a family that adds and swaps people. Compare passes on pricing.

Is the web pass the same as an App Store subscription?

No. They are separate purchases billed in different places. App Store purchases are managed by Apple.

How do I pay?

Through Coda, with cards, and Apple Pay and Google Pay in supported countries. The price is shown before you pay.

Can I get a refund?

Email support with your order ID within 14 days of the charge and we will review it in good faith. See billing.

Using the map

Can I see my kid’s location on my laptop?

Yes, with their agreement. Open the map at /app/map in any browser. Your child’s location shows after they install the app, accept your invitation and allow location sharing. See track family from a browser.

Do I need to install anything?

Not to buy or view the map. The people you invite install the app on their phones.

What can I see?

Live location, battery level and speed for people who accepted. Accuracy and timing depend on the phone, signal and settings, and a pin can be a last known position.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

The viewer can open the paid map from an iPhone, Android phone or computer browser. The person sharing needs a supported AI Family Locator app. The public download linked from this website is for iPhone; an Android browser does not prove a compatible Android sharing app is currently available. Check the invitation’s installation link before buying. Read the cross-platform guide.

How do I add a family member?

Enter their phone number in the web app; the site creates an invitation link. Send it by message. They install the app and accept.

Can I add more people later?

With the unlimited pass, yes. With the one-number pass you can use it for one phone number.

Can I locate someone using only their phone number?

No. A phone number alone never reveals a location. It only prepares an invitation. Read locating a phone by number with consent.

What if the person does not accept?

Then you see nothing for them. They can also decline or stop sharing at any time on their own device.

Can I track someone without them knowing?

No, and you should not try. The product requires acceptance, and covert monitoring may be illegal. See is location sharing safe.

Is it accurate and instant?

Not guaranteed. Updates depend on permissions, connectivity and battery settings. Check the timestamp, and use the not-updating checklist if a pin looks stale.

Is it an emergency service?

No. The in-app SOS is a location alert to family members, not emergency dispatch. Use local emergency services in an emergency.

Comparisons

Is it a cheap alternative to subscription apps?

It can be, if you only need the live family map. Read the cheap Life360 alternative guide and family locator without a subscription. We do not quote competitor prices because they change; check each provider’s site.

Do free tools already do this?

Often partly. Apple Find My and Google Maps sharing are free. See best family locator apps for an honest comparison.
