AI Family Locator is Family Locator–Phone Tracker on the App Store, ID 6816534113. It brings a consent-based family map, 3D map markers and a Family AI chat into one iPhone app. See our product facts for platform requirements and the evidence behind feature descriptions.

What the 3D map and Family AI mean

The 3D map models are animated characters and vehicles used as markers for movement categories such as walking, driving and flying. They personalize the map; they are not photographs of the real person or vehicle, satellite building imagery or live video. This is our first-party feature description, not a claim that the App Store listing independently confirms each model or setting.

Family AI is an assistant inside the app for everyday parenting questions, menus, routines and bedtime stories. It is not a family group messenger, emergency service or tool that infers someone’s location from a phone number. AI replies can be mistaken; a reply cannot establish what a family member is doing or whether they are safe.

What a family location-sharing app can help with

  • Family map: see shared positions and their last update time. A stale pin does not prove someone’s current position.
  • Places and arrival alerts: reduce routine check-in messages, subject to device, permission and connection requirements.
  • Location history: review recorded stops and routes where available; it is not proof of a person’s intentions.
  • Driving summaries: discuss recorded trips rather than treat a summary as a verified explanation of an incident.
  • Battery alerts: another check-in signal, not a guaranteed warning before a phone goes offline.
  • SOS: a family notification action, not monitored emergency dispatch. Contact local emergency services directly when needed.

Start with an invitation, not a GPS lookup

Enter a family member’s number to prepare an invitation. The participant needs the app on a supported iPhone, must accept the invitation and grant the necessary location permissions. A phone number, payment or unanswered invitation does not disclose their GPS coordinates. Connection, power and positioning conditions affect subsequent updates.

Agree together on who can see locations, how alerts will be used and how to stop sharing. Read the invitation guide, app privacy policy and current pricing (one-time lifetime web passes) before choosing a plan.

Frequently asked questions

What is a family locator app?

An app that lets family members share their live location with each other in a private group, usually with place alerts, history and emergency features. Everyone in the group agrees to share.

How many people can I add?

Your plan covers your whole family circle — kids, partner, parents and grandparents.

Is AI Family Locator a good Life360 alternative?

It covers the core family features — live map, place alerts, history, driving and SOS — and adds low-battery alerts and a Family AI assistant. See our Life360 comparison.

Can a family member stop sharing?

Yes. Anyone can pause sharing or leave the circle at any time. We think that’s what keeps families trusting the app.
