A live dot tells you where someone is. History tells you how the day went: arrived at school at 8:02, left at 15:10, home by 15:32.

## Useful when

- A child is late and you want to know they left school on time.
- A parent can’t remember where they left their bag.
- You want to retrace a day out.

## What you see

- **Stops** with arrival and departure times.
- **The route** between stops on the map.
- **A clear timeline** you can scroll through.

## Respectful by default

History is shared only inside your private circle. We recommend agreeing as a family when you’ll look at it — our guide on [location sharing with teens](https://ailocator.app/guides/location-sharing-with-teens) has ideas.

## FAQ

### How far back does history go?

History focuses on recent days so it stays useful and private. Older data isn’t kept forever.

### Can family members see my history?

History is visible to people in your private circle, the same people who see your live location.
